A garden you can use.

The hedge is cut. The lawn has a line in it. The border is planted. There is room for a chair. That is the job, from a garden that had grown over itself.

From a mess to a space

These are two different gardens. One has grown through the hedge. The other has been cut back to a shape, with grass you can walk on. A live site shows the customer's own before and after. This page shows the two states, so the work is obvious.

Hedges

A hedge is cut to a height you can live with. An arch if the path needs one. A run of green that makes the garden a room, not a thicket.

Lawns

The lawn is the floor. Edges against the border. A stripe if the mower will hold it. Wide enough for a table, not a scrap left between the shrubs.

Borders

Colour against a wall, or along the edge of the lawn. The planting is the picture. It is not a strip of bare soil with one shrub in it.

A place to sit

The work is finished when someone can sit in it. A bench, a view of the hedge, and ground that is not knee-high.

How a garden gets made

Walk it

See what has grown over, where the sun sits, and where they actually want to be.

Cut and clear

The hedge comes in. The lawn is taken back. What is dead comes out.

Leave it usable

A border, an edge, and a place to sit. They can use it the week it is finished.
